This is such a beautiful, enlightening book. I savored it while in bed on a lazy Saturday--nice to be able to read something with depth and substance in just a few hours. I was surprised and delighted by the end. I enjoyed the lessons in history and different cultures that were carefully woven through. A unique way of telling a story that was thoroughly enjoyable and uplifting. It's also a powerful reminder about how humans are wired for deep connection. I would love to see this book made into a beautiful movie - a la The English Patient.Product details

The story is lyrical, beautiful and such a pleasure to read in these days of graphic violence and sexual content. You will not miss any of that type of graphic drama but will be enchanted by this gem of a book. It is so refreshing to read a novel about reincarnation and multiple spiritual traditions written by an author who truly understands those traditions as opposed to a blend of fantasy, religion, and spirituality. I agree with the many reviewers who have compared this book to The Alchemist. I highly recommend this book.
For anyone who has ever meditated, or for anyone who would like to know what it feels like, read this novel. It is a brilliantly written book which I wish had continued on and on. Every sentence is beautifully composed with purpose and meaning. Reading this novel was a spiritual experience that left me with a different and more elevated state of mind. It gave me a glimpse into other societies and other lifetimes putting my life into perspective, turning my mundane worries into something small and irrelevant. If you are looking for a feel good read, while expanding your consciousness, start reading. There is magic on every page, leaving you with good aftertaste long after you set it down.

In some ways, as the story unfolded, I felt like I was observing a dream, for there was a billowy feeling about it all, as if the tale were about two clouds meeting in the sky, then parting, and then meeting again.
