It's always tricky to review a story that's a little too close to home. I'm a tango dancer (like the main character) with questionable judgment, poor social filters on my mouth, and am prone to making angry, irrational ultimatums. And flipping people off. It colors my view of relationship and tango-related stories and makes this particular story more relatable than it might otherwise be. With that in mind, I loved this story. It was painful and uncomfortably honest to its characters. Like ripping a scab off an old wound to see it's still bleeding underneath. It's not fun and romantic as so many tango stories are. Well, actually, some parts are fun. But then that's life.It's very colorful, funny, cantankerous, occasionally sadly sweet, and caustic. It practically invites the reader to bite back. Maybe that's why I liked it so much.
Now get off my lawn...

(Why indeed. A question for the ages.)
Next favorite quote (though it was a close race):
Doc: "What do you do for fun?"
Nick: "I hoard cameras."
Doc: "How many cameras do you have?"
Nick: "Zillions. I stay up late fondling and cleaning my hoard of old broken cameras."
